New venue, new danger!

It’s been a while hasn’t it?

The last few months have, as mentioned before involved lots of revising, and guess what readers, I passed. Both exams!  Huzzah!

Book group wise, we had our first one of the Autumn and discussed ‘One Day’ by David Nicholls.  There were a lot of differing opinions, which is always nice. Some people enjoyed the story set over 20 years, some thought it was average and throwaway and others hated it, saying that the melodramatic ending was a wee bit trite.

This is one of the reasons I love the group. Reading is such a solitary act so getting together with people and sharing what you actually think is pretty exciting. And fun.

We had 4 new members at September’s group (hurrah, lovely new people!) but in a fit if tidiness I have chucked last month’s club register away in the recycling…with new members emails on it. Not good. So, if you came to book group for the first time in September, will you be a gem and message me your email address? Or join our facebook group?

Also, we have come to the end of our residency at Uncle Alberts and are moving on to a new home for October book group – the lovely Writer’s Block, opposite the Town Hall and mima.

Exciting times!
